A WebQuest is an effective tool for USING English. In the following weeks, you will find out how it works, and we will discuss the design of your first WebQuest.
REMEMBER: A good WebQuest
- uses Internet resources (written in good authentic English)
- requires independent thinking, not mechanic copying from references
- is based on information processing: the students search for facts, evaluate, and come to their your own conclusions
Task 1:
Which of these topics can be developed into a good webquest? Why? What key features might be missing?
1. product: a tourist guide through Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland
2. product: an itinerary for a group travel to Prague
3. product: an essay on the political causes of the Great War
4. product: a list of reasons why UFO does not exist
Task 2:
Define the topic and product of your webquest. Register your topics in the comments below!

TASK B
Work in the set groups. Start designing your project Webquest.
First, think about the outcomes of your WebQuest - describe the final product.
Paralelly search for suitable online resources, Remember to set a task wich does not enable copy-paste solution.
Look at the WebQuest template to learn more about its structure.
Inspiration:
WebQuest 1 - Building the Stonehenge
WebQuest 2 - A Trip to Egypt
WebQuest 3 - A Diary of the Survivor
WebQuest 4 - Pirates!

- I think this webquest is good because it teaches children how to learn literary devices, genres, the synopsis is a learning point for the children to work as a group.
Task B - Hejnová Káťa, Kuriljaková Ivča
OdpovědětVymazatTopic: What would happen, if the south and north Korea never split?
Final product: How would your personal rights change from the position of korean citizen - write a short essay (500 words)
Out of the three webquests that I've chosen at random, I would consider the "Off To Space!" webquest to be the best, as it contained the least "copy-paste" structured tasks and allowed the students to approach the quest using their own initiative.

OdpovědětVymazatThis webquest is interesting. It's straight forward and informative.
Task A - Bludský
OdpovědětVymazatI really like the SOS (Save Our Species) WebQuest, as it presents a real life issue and is thoroughly made. The participant's thoughts are then supposed to be presented to the world in any form of media, which is really great.

TASK A:
OdpovědětVymazatI found a WebQuest called "Gimme Shelter!" http://questgarden.com/51/22/4/070608090111/index.htm
In my opinion, it looks like a very nice way of spreading awareness around this specific and heavy topic and makes you find some ways to deal with it.
TASK B:
Perhaps the topic could be something along the lines of creating your own café and the final product should be an inclusive café you designed yourself.

OdpovědětVymazatI consider this a good webquest for it's amount of various tips for people with different facial features. It describes the techniques and processes well and is encouraging.

I like this one as it's whole practical and it's complicated to cheat while doing the WebQuest. You should really give yourself enough time for research.

OdpovědětVymazatTask B: The final product of our webquest:
Either an essay or presentation about: Why is Prague considered to be the Golden city?
